Many years ago, maybe 1993 / 94, a very dear friend of mine, the late Sheik Razak Shukor (call sign SRS) said – “as managers, do the things that cost very little but mean a lot to your people”
Today, I was at an alumnus meeting and a friend came up to say that my blog is one of his favorites and he checks it regularly for updates. It cost him very little to say that, but it meant a lot to me. It made my blogging effort worthwhile. Thank you for the encouragement.
I wonder as managers, how often do we practice the word of the late Sheikh Razak?
Try it out, focus on things that your staff / kids / spouse/ are doing and complement them for it. Soon you will see how a little encouragement goes a long way…
